LEYENDA DEL CEIBO

Dicen que al hacer Dios a los Ceibos como frondosos árboles con frutos benditos, el Diablo tuvo muchas iras y los puso al revés. En esa guerra eterna entre el bien y el mal, Dios hizo que a sus raíces les crezcan hojas, flores y hasta una especie de algodón; y por eso, aquellos que crecimos con ellos amamos este árbol que nos recuerda que en la creación hay un lado VIDA y hay un lado MUERTE."

LEGEND OF THE CEIBO TREE

They say that when God made the Ceibo trees as lush, leafy trees with blessed fruits, the Devil grew furious and turned them upside down. In that eternal war between good and evil, God made leaves, flowers, and even a kind of cotton to grow from their roots. And that is why those of us who grew up with them love this tree, because it reminds us that in creation, there is a side of LIFE and a side of DEATH.

DIE LEGENDE DES CEIBO-BAUMS

Man erzählt sich, als Gott die Ceibos zu üppigen Bäumen mit gesegneten Früchten machte, geriet der Teufel in großen Zorn und drehte sie auf den Kopf. In diesem ewigen Krieg zwischen Gut und Böse ließ Gott aus ihren Wurzeln Blätter, Blüten und sogar eine Art Baumwolle wachsen. Und deshalb lieben wir, die wir mit ihnen aufgewachsen sind, diesen Baum — denn er erinnert uns daran, dass es in der Schöpfung eine Seite LEBEN und eine Seite TOD gibt.
